We have always been lucky enough to live in Rivington all our lives. Any spare time would be spent walking the pike or making dens in the woods! There was no better feeling than coming home smelling of the fresh air outside with pieces of woodland stuck into our hair and grass stains all over our clothes. This is where our love of nature started, and having Rivington on our doorstep allowed us to explore not only wildlife but trees, plants and how the seasons changed.
As a family, we love to encourage children to do the exact same, after all, there is no better way of learning than to experience play, find magic outdoors and get messy.
Working collaboratively with Rachael Jepson from ‘2 the woods’, we’re offering school holiday clubs for the kids to get full of muck and have a real good adventure. We went to school with Rachael (Rivington Primary School) so we love the fact we can work with her.
Not only do children and young people learn from this experience, they are also supported to appreciate the environment around them and are taught ways in which they can help make a better place for us all to enjoy.
